This year, Blue Wave Postcards set an ambitious goal: 3 million postcards in 2026. Now, through early October, we're launching into the most intensive stretch of the year — a weekly cadence of campaigns reaching voters in states where every ballot counted really matters and makes a massive difference.
What's Coming
Starting now, we're rolling out weekly postcard campaigns into states including Texas, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, California, and Colorado — states with some of the most closely watched races this cycle. From competitive Senate and gubernatorial contests to down-ballot races that will shape state legislatures for years to come, our postcards to these voters will help boost turnout of voters who share our values.
Blue Wave’s postcards work because they're personal. A handwritten note from a real volunteer cuts through the noise of digital ads, AI generated social media, and phone calls — and the data backs it up. In the last few years, Blue Wave has seen anywhere from a 1-6% impact on our postcards. And research on voter contact methods has consistently shown that handwritten postcards move participation, especially among voters who might otherwise sit out an election.
Why These States

Texas — Statewide races and a wave of competitive congressional districts make this a state where turnout in historically under-mobilized communities can swing outcomes. Over 1 million voters have been purged from the rolls in the last few years, so we need to make sure they get re-registered.

Arizona – Close statewide races and down ballot elections, including the Arizona Corporation Commission which has huge implications for renewable energy and the rates Arizonans pay for electricity.

Michigan — A perennial battleground with high-stakes races up and down the ballot.

Pennsylvania — One of the closest states in recent election cycles, where margins are often razor-thin and a state with crucial down ballot races and 2028 implications.

California – A state often overlooked in national politics, California has some razor thin Congressional races that could be the difference in control of the House.

Colorado — Blue Wave’s home state, with important state legislative races and scary anti-trans ballot initiatives that we need to defeat.
