About Us

The Blue Wave Postcard Movement is dedicated to increasing civic engagement and voter turnout through grassroots efforts. We mobilize volunteers to write postcards encouraging citizens to vote, ensuring every voice is heard. Our team is passionate about democracy, community building, and making a tangible difference in the electoral process.

Position Overview

We seek a motivated National Organizing Director to join our dynamic, currently all-volunteer team. This role is essential for expanding and supporting our national network of postcard writing groups and individual writers.  In the future, your role may grow beyond organizing, and you may play an important part in developing and managing our postcard campaigns, tracking and increasing our impact, and much more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expand Our Network of Postcard Writing Groups Nationally
    • Identify and reach out to potential new groups and leaders.
    • Develop and implement strategies to grow our network.
    • Organize and conduct informational sessions or webinars to onboard new groups.
  • Support Our Network of Postcard Writing Groups
    • Provide ongoing support and resources to existing postcard writing groups.
    • Address any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Expand and Support Our Network of Postcard Writers
    • Respond to writer inquiries with support from our core volunteer team.
    • Set up virtual events for postcard writers.
    • Set up in-person events for local postcard writers in Boulder and vicinity.
  • Support Postcard Campaigns
    • Support the distribution of postcard kits by working with our volunteer distribution team if needed.
  • Maintain and Improve the Blue Wave Website
    • Work with our core volunteer team to keep the information on our website current and accurate.
    • Work with our core volunteer team to keep improving our website.

Future Responsibilities (can grow into them over time):

  • Assist in planning and executing postcard campaigns by working with our core volunteer team.
  • Track and improve campaign effectiveness by working with our national and local partners.
  • Support other parts of the Blue Wave process as needed.

Qualifications

  • Passion for civic engagement and grassroots organizing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience with volunteer coordination or community outreach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with Google Docs and Spreadsheets.
  • Previous experience in writing Blue Wave postcards is a plus but not necessary.

Job Details

  • Work remotely most of the time, but you will need to live close to Boulder so you can work closely with our core volunteer team and distribution volunteer team, both of which are based in Boulder.
  • Full-time and flexible work hours, but you may need to work on the weekends occasionally.
  • Pay range: $5,000 - $7,500 per month
