A devoted group of seniors at my Retirement Community sent out 9700 of your postcards for the 2024 General Election - to no avail! My co-residents have been asking me “What can we do?” to resist the horrifying changes we hear and read about daily, and we haven’t been able to find anything that doesn’t involve marching in below freezing weather in Boston. We’ve been there and done that, but we’re too old to do it now!
I was sooo pleased to receive your email this week, offering the new campaign in Wisconsin, and I immediately ordered a box of 2000 postcards and stamps, and sent out a notice that you - and we - are back in business. There’s been a big response, with people promising to come to write and sticker postcards and contribute to cover the cost of stamps.
We’re worried that the new regime will decommission the post office (as ineffective and inefficient as it is!) and we won’t be able to do even this - it would be devastating!
So we thank you for getting on it in CO and sharing the goods with us in MA, where making phone calls to our legislators is preaching to the choir.
Our first gathering is on March 7, by which time the postcards will arrive, and we will send a photo of us hard at work, trying once again to Save our Democracy!
